Wyandotte College was an institution of higher learning. Professor Arthur Barnstable taught there before the Second World War and returned after service as an artillery private. Two years later, at a time when Barnstable was seen as a ridiculous and incompetent figure, a student was assigned to him as thesis adviser by the dean of social studies. Barnhouse later taught this student the ability of dynamopsychism.[1] EPICAC, a large, advanced computer used for calculations in sophisticated military operations, was housed on the fourth floor of the physics building.[2]
Lew Harrison, the chief announcer of the only radio station in the college's town, hosted a weekly program on science featuring professors from Wyandotte. An episode with physics professor and radio astronomer Dr. Fred Bockman and a sociology professor featured the first broadcast of "Bockman's Euphoria." This same sociology professor later testified before the Federal Communications Commission regarding Harrison's development of the euphio to harness the effects of Bockman's Euphoria.[3]
In the year 2158, the president of the college, Dr. Brainard Keyes Bullard, stated that most social problems in the world were a consequence of the fact that humanity’s knowledge of itself had developed slower than its knowledge of the physical world.[4]
